Dr. Romeo Galang is the acting team lead for the Emergency Preparedness and Response Team in the Division of Reproductive Health and serves as an Adjunct Assistant Professor with the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics at Emory University. He earned his MPH and MD from Tulane University and the University of Rochester, respectively. He completed residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Massachusetts General Hospital. Dr. Galang joined CDC in 2014 as an Epidemic Intelligence Service Officer and has served as a maternal and infant health expert in CDC emergency responses to Ebola, HIV, Zika, COVID-19, and Monkeypox. Dr. Galang's professional interests include maternal and infant health, emergency preparedness and response, and reproductive health equity.
